These are the chapter notes from the Teaching Reading Sourcebook covering vocabulary. In the chapters covering vocabulary, I gained insights into specific word instruction, effective word learning strategies, and the importance of word consciousness in developing students' vocabulary skills. From these chapters, I learned how to teach students not only individual words but also how to expand their vocabulary through context, word relationships, and word analysis. I included these notes in my portfolio to highlight my understanding of the critical role vocabulary plays in reading comprehension and to showcase my ability to implement diverse vocabulary teaching techniques in the classroom effectively.
