I completed a module from the Iowa Reading Research Center on Teacher Tools for Universally Implementing Structured Literacy Content. Going through the four sections that covered scope and sequence, synthetic and analytic instructional routines, POSSUM, and classroom demonstrations was very informative. This knowledge will be incredibly valuable in my future classroom as it equips me with the tools to effectively implement structured literacy instruction to support students' reading development. Including this in my portfolio showcases my dedication to professional growth and my commitment to using evidence-based practices in literacy instruction.
Small-Group, Skills-Based Instruction
I completed a module from the Iowa Reading Research Center on Small-Group, Skills-Based Instruction. Going through topics like key elements of the literacy block, whole-group and small group instruction, and preparing the class for small group instruction was really interesting and it gave me a great overview of what small group instruction should look like. This knowledge will be very useful in my future classroom as it equips me with strategies to effectively implement small-group instruction to support students' literacy skills. Including this artifact in my portfolio, again, demonstrates my commitment to professional development.

I completed a module from the Iowa Reading Research Center on Teaching Students to Map Phonemes to Graphemes. Learning about how grapheme-phoneme correspondence supports literacy development and going through the instructional routine for teaching this mapping was really beneficial. This knowledge will be incredibly valuable in my future classroom as it equips me with effective strategies to help students understand the relationship between sounds and letters, which is crucial for reading and spelling.
