These are the chapter notes from the Teaching Reading Sourcebook covering print awareness, letter knowledge, and phonological awareness. In the chapters I learned about the foundational skills necessary for early literacy development. I gained insights into how to teach children about print concepts, letter-sound relationships, and the ability to recognize and manipulate sounds in spoken language. These chapters provided me with valuable strategies to support emergent readers in acquiring essential pre-reading skills. I included these notes in my portfolio to showcase my knowledge in fostering early literacy skills.
