We are involved in a lot of ways at the Radlett Festival and need lots of volunteers to help.
This year Scouting and Girlguiding are once again joining forces to run the main refreshment tent for the Radlett Festival.
This requires help from parents, scouts and guides on the day to run the stalls, and in particular, many donations of large and small cakes, scones and jam, and biscuits – homemade if possible! Please label with type of cake and if it contains nuts, and deliver to the Philimore Recreation ground on the morning of the Festival. Thank you. These should be delivered directly to the Philimore Recreation Ground on the Sunday morning, but please call Nic Day if you need to make other arrangements
We also need bottles for the Swiss Group’s bottle tombola – alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, nice preserves, and good quality oil, and soft toys for our toy tombola. It would be helpful if these could be delivered to Nic Day's house in advance of the event.
The Radlett Festival 2014 is a community event. We are hoping to show Scouting and Girlguiding working together, and it would be fantastic to see lots of you there. We use the occasion to promote our organisations, to recruit more adult leaders, and to ensure the continuation of our units.
We are hoping to receive matched funding support from Barclays Bank this year on the tea tent, so every penny we earn will be matched by the bank.
Stall help rotas are available and if you have not yet signed up on the rotas, and can offer your help either setting up, clearing up or serving during the afternoon, please contact Nicola Day. Please support us in whichever way you can, and let’s make it our best year yet!
We have also again hired the climbing wall so will need at least 2 volunteers an hour to man this, taking money and possibly helping with the fitting of harnesses. The Scouts are running a game and we will be promoting ourselves within the community. So lots of help is needed.
We have sign up sheets in the Headquarters but as the Cubs and Scouts are not meeting there this week please let your leader, Group Scout Leader Jackie Glover or Nic Day know when you can help
