Group News June 2021

We know that it has been very difficult since March 2020 for many, and has been a difficult ride for us to be able to keep Scouting running in this time. We are glad at this moment we are able to have both Scouts and Cubs meeting face-to-face. We want to thank all our volunteers, both leaders and those on the committee who have helped us through the time.

We will be holding a virtual AGM on Monday 5th July at 8pm on Teams find with this link. to give more of an overview of the year, including an update on the works done to our Headquarters over the last year.

You may be aware we now have a number of areas where we would greatly value new volunteers. Volunteering at Scouts isn’t just about changing young people’s lives. It’s about doing something that’s #GoodForYou too.

As you may be aware we do need more volunteers to join the Beaver leadership team as we currently only have one leader. We also need to announce that the Scouts will be needing new volunteers, including to be our main leader as Alex has increased work commitments so will not be able to continue as our main leader, we would like to thank Alex for all his work getting our Scout Troop going again and on building up over the last few years.


So leadership roles needed are:


Sadly Sharon has had to step down from being our Secretary, we thank her for her support, so we do have a number of roles in our Group Executive that we need help with. In order for a Scout Group to run we do require officer holders on the Executive Committee to be filled.

On the 13th July we mark 95 years of our Cub pack, first formed on the 13th July 1926.
