Christmas Post 2019
Post date: Dec 4, 2019 2:18:00 PM
As on our previous newsletter, we are once again running the Christmas Post service this year. Scout Christmas Post services have been run in many locations up and down the country for a number of years. The Postal Services Act 2000 confirmed an exemption which meant charitable groups such as the Scouts did not need a licence if they wanted to collect and deliver Christmas post between certain dates over the festive period. We have decided that we will continue this year primarily with the Beavers and Cubs, although the number of helpers will be based on the number of cards sent as we did not have as much use last year, so we want your help getting the word out. We would like to encourage as many families to help us with this and encourage the people of Radlett to use the service to send their cards to those in Radlett for 30p a card. The boxes are out now and can be found at Budgens and Battlers Green Drive Supermarket and will be there till 10am on Saturday 14 December which we will then sort and distribute to the families who volunteer and try and arrange to those closest to the family. If your family would like to take part please either let your leader know or email jackie.glover@elstreescouts.org.uk.Â
