Collaboration with the
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) -Sirmaur, India
The Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research organised a Ceremony for the Signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) – Sirmaur, India on 31 January 2025 hosted by the University of Mauritius (UoM).
UoM had the opportunity to welcome Dr the Honourable K S Sukon, Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Research, HE Vimarsh Aryan, the Deputy High Commissioner of Indian to Mauritius, Professor Prafulla Agnihotri, the Director of IIM Sirmaur and other high officials.
This MoU establishes a formal framework for collaborations between IIM Sirmaur, India and The Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research (including all the public higher education institutions (PHEIs) falling under its aegis) to promote academic exchange and cooperation, through, inter alia,
(i) Joint program development and offer in areas of mutual interest;
(ii) Joint research projects in fields of mutual interest;
(iii) Faculty exchange programs; and
(iv) Collaborative capacity building and professional development initiatives.
As a first project, IIM Sirmaur, India, the University of Mauritius (UoM) and the University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM) will jointly offer of a collaborative full-time degree programme “Master’s in Business Administration in Tourism, Travel, and Hospitality Management”.
On the same occasion, UoM and UTM, each signed a Service Level Agreement with IIM Sirmaur that sets out the arrangements for collaboration between the University and the IIM Sirmaur.
