The University of Mauritius organised its Flag Raising Ceremony on Tuesday 11 March 2025 at 11.30 hrs in the Paul Octave Wiehé Auditorium to celebrate the 57th Anniversary of the Independence Day and the 33rd Anniversary of the Republic of Mauritius.
The ceremony started with a speech by Mr Tirouvalen RUNGIAH, the President of the Students’ Union, which was followed by cultural items presented by some UoM staff and students.

After the Flag Raising, our Chief Guest, the Honourable Hambyrajen NARSINGHEN, Junior Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade and also a former academic staff of the UoM, read the message of the Honourable Prime Minister and thereafter delivered his address.
