The University of Mauritius (UoM) had the privilege to host Her Excellency Mrs Maria do Rosario Bragança, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Republic of Angola, along with her delegation, on 05 May 2023.

The Delegation included Mrs Elisamã Cardoso, Director of the Minister’s Office; Mr Milton Chivela, Director General of the National Institute of Scholarships Management; Ms Edna Baltazar, Third Secretary from the Embassy of Angola in Tanzania; Mrs Rosalina Gonçavales, Expert from the Legal Affairs and Cooperation Office; and Ms Elvira Fernandes, Expert from the Legal Affairs Department of the Ministry of External Relations. The Delegation was accompanied by his Excellency Eng. José Amaro Tati, Honorary Consular of Angola to the Republic of Mauritius.

The objective of the visit of the Angolan delegation was to explore opportunities for collaboration between higher education institutions in Mauritius and the Republic of Angola. During the visit to the UoM, the Delegation had productive interactions with Mr P Chitamun, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the UoM Council, Professor Sanjeev K Sobhee, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mauritius and other senior officials of UoM. The discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two countries.
