27 May 2022 - "JICA Chair" Special Lecture on Meiji Revolution

UoM, in collaboration with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Madagascar, hosted the "JICA Chair" Special Lecture on Meiji Revolution: Start of Full-Scale Modernisation in Japan by Dr Shinichi Kitaoka, Special Advisor to the President, Former President of JICA and Emeritus Professor of the University of Tokyo in the Lecture Theatre II.

HE Shuichiro Kawaguchi, the Ambassador of Japan in Mauritius was also present on campus for this event.

Some 45 participants (external members, UoM Staff and Students) attended the Lecture.

Professor S K Sobhee, Acting Vice-Chancellor, addressed the audience and talked briefly on the Meiji Revolution.
