I was nominated by the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology to attend the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)'s Regional Meeting of Vice-Chancellors and Representatives of Regional Bodies involved in education and training from 14 to 16 August 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The aim and objectives of the meeting were, amongst others, to look for possibilities of networking with other Universities and the Agency on Nuclear Energy programmes of study, to indentify training gaps through Training Needs Analysis and to identify projects of national priorities in the field of Agriculture, Water Resources Management, Climate Resilience, and Clear Energy.

As a result of this meeting, a Network of Vice-Chancellors has been created to facilitate exchange and cross fertilization of ideas. The work of the network is ongoing and the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, is very actively participating in the network.
