Upon the invitation by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF, I participated in a meeting involving all Vice-Chancellors and Directors/Director General of Regional AUF Member Universities and Institutions which was held from 19 to 20 July 2023 in Antananarivo, Madagascar. It was the first meeting of its kind organised by the AUF, providing a platform for networking among AUF Member Universities and also for taking cognizance of the various possibilities and areas of collaboration among French-speaking Universities within the region and outside.

UoM is more concerned with English-based speaking Universities for collaboration and the AUF platform provided equally important avenues to attract students and researchers essential for the internationalisation strategy of the UoM.

With the assistance of AUF, UoM is envisaging opportunities for collaboration with Universities based in the region  in teaching and learning, research, offer of online joint-degree programmes, placement and internship of postgraduate students, either regionally or in companies in France.
