25 May 2022 - Opening Ceremony of the 2nd Edition of the UoM Hackathon 2022 organised by the Faculty of Information, Communication and Digital Technologies (FoICDT)


The UoM Hackathon 2022 was held under the theme "Bringing Innovative Solutions to SDGs". This second edition focused on SDG 13-Climate Action and SDG 14- Life Below Water. The event, sponsored by Emtel took place from 25 to 27 May 2022 at the Raised Plaza, Academic Complex, University of Mauritius.

Participants implemented innovative working digital solutions (using Web, Mobile, Cloud, IoT and AI technologies) to facilitate the achievement of goals set in SDGs 13 and 14. Our Industry Partners - Ceridian and Accenture - provided training in these technologies to the Participants before the competition.

The Honorable Deepak Balgobin, Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation was the Chief Guest for the event.

Winning teams received interesting prizes, i.e. cash prizes of Rs.50,000 (first place), Rs.30,000 (first runner up) and Rs.20,000 (second runner up).
