Attracting high quality visiting scholars is important to enhancing research activity and the international reputation of the School. A faculty host at Ted Rogers School of Management must invite the visiting scholars/students.
Visiting Scholar matters are coordinated through the office of the Associate Dean, Research, and the department of Human Resources at Toronto Metropolitan University. The department of Human Resources issues a formal letter of invitation to international visiting scholars, based upon an approval process vetted at the departmental and decanal level. Your visiting researcher must fit into one of the categories listed at Hosting Visiting Researchers at TMU.
If your supervisor requires a formal letter of intent to visit TMU for their home institution or granting organization, please contact the HR Immigration team at visitingresearch@torontomu.ca.
In the case of domestic visiting scholars with a Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residence, the Dean’s Office issues a letter of invitation based on a similar vetting process. Letters sent by individual faculty members are not considered official, and cannot bind the Ted Rogers School of Management or Toronto Metropolitan University.
