The yearly admissions dashboard highlights trends in applications, admissions decisions, and enrolments over recent years. Applications saw a noticeable dip during COVID-19 but have gradually returned to pre-pandemic levels. While the proportion of applicants that declined their offer of admissions has increased, this increase has remained slight due to a proactive increase in the number of offers sent out in order to maintain matriculation rates. Notably, fewer applicants are selecting TRSM programs as their top choice, down by 2%, while those ranking it as their fourth choice or lower have increased by 6%. In Fall 2023, the acceptance rate was 65%, the yield rate (percentage of offers that enrolled) was 26%, and the conversion rate (percentage of total applicants that enrolled) was 17%. International student matriculations increased during COVID-19 but have since fallen below pre-COVID levels. The majority of domestic students continue to come from the Greater Toronto Area and international students from India, UAE, Vietnam, Bangladesh, China, and the USA.
The weekly admissions dashboard delivers comprehensive, real-time insights into admission trends throughout the application cycle. It supports key stakeholders in monitoring and analyzing progress toward enrollment targets. The dashboard highlights critical metrics, including total applications, active offers, confirmations (both conditional and clear), and outstanding offers awaiting applicant decisions. Users can examine data by specific weeks and compare it with trends from one or two prior admission cycles. The dashboard also projects confirmations for the upcoming week and the entire admission cycle. Additionally, metrics can be segmented by program and applicant type (domestic or international), enabling a detailed understanding of performance relative to goals.
The undergraduate student experience survey dashboard provides an overview of insights gathered from the Dean’s Undergraduate Student Experience Survey conducted annually from 2021 to 2024. This tool offers detailed information on student perspectives on their motivations for choosing their program, learning and teaching preferences, program quality, skill development, satisfaction with student services, retention and well-being, and overall experience.
Highlights include:
Feedback on learning and teaching emphasizes strong interest in co-op and internships, and less interest in capstone or thesis projects.
In teaching and program quality, students indicated an appreciation for faculty being knowledgeable and their program preparing them for a career, whereas the quality of feedback and course workload were identified as areas for improvement.
When offering feedback on skill development, students reported strengths in teamwork and ethical awareness and less development in entrepreneurial thinking and Indigenous perspectives.
Satisfaction with student services, including career support and academic advising, is generally high, though accessibility of appointments requires attention.
Well-being insights reveal that most students feel welcomed at TRSM, albeit stress and a lack of awareness of mental health resources remain challenges.
Retention data shows strong program commitment and intent to complete degrees, with finances and stress as primary barriers.
Overall, most students would recommend TRSM and their programs.
The Student Experience Annual Trends Dashboard provides year-over-year insights from the 2021 to 2024 Dean’s Undergraduate Student Experience Survey. The dashboard highlights trends in areas such as teaching and program quality, learning preferences, student services, well-being, and retention. While most metrics remain stable year-over-year, the tool identifies subtle changes in areas such as satisfaction with support services and barriers to student success. By visualizing consistent and emerging trends, the dashboard supports data-driven strategies to enhance the overall undergraduate experience and address evolving student needs.
The Student Experience Program Trends Dashboard offers insights from the 2021–2024 Dean’s Undergraduate Student Experience Survey, allowing users to compare trends across programs or between a single program and all of TRSM. The dashboard highlights trends in areas such as teaching and program quality, learning preferences, student services, well-being, and retention. The dashboard allows users to explore program-specific differences and trends to tailor strategies that meet the specific needs of each program in areas such program and teaching quality, skill and knowledge development, and interests in experiential learning.
The Student Retention and Success Dashboard provides an overview of student retention and persistence, academic success, and graduation outcomes across the 2018–2024 cohorts. The dashboard tracks year-over-year retention, graduation, and withdrawal rates, highlighting points in the student journey where attrition or program transfers within TRSM occur. The dashboard also tracks academic success in challenging foundational courses. Data can be filtered and analyzed by cohort year, program, academic standing, admission and transfer group (such as direct entry, transfers, and TMUIC), co-op participation, Indigenous self-identification, and international or domestic status. This allows for detailed exploration of student outcomes and retention patterns across different groups. These insights help pinpoint areas for targeted academic support and inform retention and student success initiatives across TRSM.
Key Insights: Early retention remains strong, with 81% of students continuing after their first year, and 71% after their second year. By the end of year five, 67% of students have graduated, 11% discontinued, 7% remain enrolled, 5% switched programs, and 10% remain inactive. Academic success trends indicate that the majority of students maintain clear academic standing throughout their studies, with average CGPAs ranging between 2.6 and 2.8 across cohorts. In recent cohorts, average grades have slightly declined in challenging foundational courses.
The Co-op Positions and Employer Feedback Dashboard offers insights into the co-op experience from both student and employer perspectives. The dashboard displays employer perspectives on how prepared students are to meet the needs of organizations, as well as student strengths and weaknesses upon the completion of their work term, student satisfaction with their placement, and the support provided by the Business Career Hub. It also provides detailed data on placement industries, job titles, and the learning outcomes students focus on during their work terms. Other areas of focus include how employers perceive our students relative to those hired from other institutions, skills and knowledge areas employers are prioritizing now and anticipate to be important in the future.
The Student Learning and Delivery Preferences Dashboard offers insights on student preferences for course delivery and scheduling. These insights encompass various aspects, including resources consulted for course selection and planning (e.g., student advising, online tools), delivery modes (e.g., online, in-person), scheduling preferences (e.g., daytime, evening), and course providers (e.g., Chang School, TRSM).

Delivery
Preferences vary by context, with students leaning toward in-person learning for collaborative or math-intensive courses and online options when managing work or other commitments.
Scheduling
Scheduling trends reveal that day-time courses are the most popular, while evenings and spring/summer gain popularity when students are balancing other obligations (e.g., while working or on a co-op work term).
Weekends and sprints were viewed least favourably.
Spring/summer courses are preferred for CGPA improvement.
Course providers
In terms of course providers, the data shows a strong preference for TRSM courses over Chang School offerings, though Chang School is viewed more favourably when students are seeking flexibility, affordability, or when balancing commitments.
Students indicated a higher likelihood of choosing TRSM over Chang courses if they offered more flexible scheduling and delivery options like hy-flex, blended, and online synchronous models.
