At various stages of the PPR process, all program faculty will be expected to engage in generative and reflective sessions in order to produce meaningful data and analysis for the PPR. Engaging core Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) instructors is advantageous, but their participation should be compensated accordingly.
Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 1) contract lecturers participating in the course mapping process are to be remunerated as follows: a minimum of 2 hours at $100.00/hour. Please note that Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 1) contract lecturers, either with a teaching contract during this process, or not, are to be invited into the process and paid according to the above guidelines. The mapping work is considered out-of-scope as per Articles 17.2 and 17.3 of the Unit 1 collective agreement.
The payment can be processed via a personnel action form. The rationale for the payment must be included on the form.
As per the TMU PPR Guidelines for Stage 2, the Dean’s Office is responsible for travel and accommodation expenses for external reviewers, as well as any costs during the site visit for agenda activities, such as breakfast, lunch, snacks, etc..
In addition, external reviewers are to be paid an honorarium of $1,000 CAD upon submission of the Peer Review Team Report to the faculty Dean. See below.
Expenses are to be initially processed by the department/school cost centre. Once the PRT Report has been submitted and all expenses have been captured/reimbursed, the department/school may request a transfer of expenses. For more information, please refer to the TRSM Guidelines for Managing Expenses Related to the PRT Visit.
