This section provides a list of Staff Awards available at Toronto Metropolitan University. For more information on Staff Awards, visit the Employee Awards page on the TMU website. Staff awards are offered on an annual basis, with email alerts being sent out with information regarding qualifications to staff in the Fall.
The purpose of this program is to provide an avenue for the Dean to recognize specific members of staff who have met a high level of achievement in their work. The recognition program will be offered a minimum of once per academic year. In its initial year, the recognition will take the form of a Dinner (Dean’s All-Star Staff Dinner) with the Dean and other recipients of the award.
Eligibility
The All Star Award is available to any full-time (Term or FTCE) OPSEU or MAC employee in the Ted Rogers School of Management who have been employed for a minimum of 1 year in TRSM
Selection Criteria
The nominee demonstrates excellence in their work. This list is expansive, including a wide range of positive attributes. Examples include:
A consistently positive attitude
A willingness to take on problems
Showing compassion to colleagues and students
Excellence on a specific project
Demonstrations of creative solutions
A demonstrated commitment to inclusion
Long service to the institution
Nomination Guidelines
Nominations may be self-nominated or submitted by a colleague (faculty or staff) or manager.
Nominees must be TRSM staff members (MAC or OPSEU).
Nominations must be submitted via the prescribed Google Form, and must include a brief summary of why the nominee is being put forward.
Selection Committee
The selection committee will consist of the Dean, along with two additional leaders selected by the Dean.
The Irene Campagna Excellence in Service Award recognizes two (2) outstanding Ted Rogers School of Management staff members whose service to the School’s community is particularly praiseworthy.
The award was created in honour of Irene Campagna, who is the former Academic Administrator in the School’s Office of Dean. Irene’s contribution to the School and to the Toronto Met community was exemplary. For over three decades, faculty, staff and students benefited from her broad knowledge of university administration, willingness to help, and patience to provide assistance and guidance to all. This award acknowledges Irene’s important role in the well-functioning of one of Canada’s largest undergraduate Business Schools.
Award recipient(s) will have their names engraved on a plaque located in the Office of the Dean and a monetary award of $1,000 as a one-time payment (subject to applicable deductions).
Eligibility/Award Criteria
Any full-time Ted Rogers School of Management staff member (OPSEU or MAC) who has been employed with the School for a minimum of one (1) year is eligible for the Irene Campagna Excellence in Service Award.
The nominee has demonstrated outstanding standards of service to the TRSM community and has made a significant contribution to the administration of the School.
The nominee has demonstrated commendable collegiality and notable leadership skills in their role.
Recipients of this award may not receive the same award for the following two academic years.
Recognizes individuals and cross-functional teams in administration of the University, advancing its mission and demonstrating its values by providing services and participating in or leading teams.

Administrative or operational excellence and innovation

Toronto Metropolitan University Faculty Association (TFA) members and associate members are only eligible as part of a team.
Individuals can only be nominated for one individual award per year; however the Selection Committee may choose to reassign a nomination to a different award category, based on best fit with the criteria.
Nominations are only valid for the year in which they are submitted and must be based on achievements within the past academic year.
