The Tri-Agencies (CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC) have released their Open Access Policy on Publications.
For grants awarded after May 1, 2015 (NSERC, SSHRC) or January 1, 2008 (CIHR), all peer-reviewed publications are required to be freely accessible within 12 months of publication. There are two routes allowed (and they encourage you to do both):
Publish in a journal that allows immediate open access or that allows open access within 12 months of initial publication; and/or
Deposit your final, peer-reviewed article in an online repository such as the Toronto Metropolitan University Library & Archives Digital Repository.
Do you have a new study that is about to be published in a journal or current research that you'd like to publicize? Research findings/learnings that you think a broader audience in Toronto, Ontario or Canada should know about? Need preparation for media interviews, media training or advice on writing opinion pieces?
If so, please contact Paul Cantin, Director of Marketing and Communications, Ted Rogers School (pcantin@torontomu.ca).
Take a look at the Toronto Metropolitan Online Media Room which has all the current research releases, media releases and advisories that Toronto Metropolitan Public affairs send out.
Faculty members can find an RA through the following routes:
Through informal networks
Through the Ted Rogers School Graduate Assistant Google Sheet list shared by Nancy Amaral at the beginning of every semester (please contact Nancy Amaral at namaral@torontomu.ca for access to the Google Sheet).
By posting on Toronto Metropolitan Careers site, in the MBA Newsletter or to other specific departments at Toronto Metropolitan, please contact your RASO to arrange for these postings
The proliferation of predatory journals is a major issue within the academic community and has negative implications for scholars, their affiliated institutions and academia as a whole. Predatory journals are journals of dubious quality that lack the scholarly rigour and professional capacity of legitimate peer-review journals.
