TRSM is proud to hold several program-specific accreditations. Other TRSM programs/courses are also recognized by external professional accrediting bodies.
The School of Accounting and Finance is recognized by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario under the CPA National Recognition and Accreditation Standards for Post-Secondary Institutions. CPA Accreditation allows successful graduates of the Professional Master’s Diploma in Accounting who have completed their Bachelor of Commerce from the School of Accounting and Finance - Accounting major to complete the core and elective modules of the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) with advanced standing into the CPA PEP Capstone 1 and 2 modules. Upon successful completion of these modules, students will be eligible to write the Common Final Examination (CFE).
In 2017, the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management was the first university level program to be recognized with SMART Premium accreditation by Tourism HR Canada. The SMART+ Accreditation Program aims to provide an opportunity for post-secondary public or private institutions and corporate training providers to demonstrate that their tourism-related programming meets or exceeds industry standards.
The Bachelor of Health Administration program delivered by the School of Health Services Management was the first Canadian undergraduate program to be formally certified by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration. AUPHA is a global network dedicated to the improvement of healthcare delivery through excellence in healthcare management and policy education.
Since 2024, TRSM has become an accredited academic partner by the Canadian Health Information Management Association, Canada’s largest health information community. The Bachelor of Health Administration (BHA) is accredited by the Canadian College of Health Information Management. As such the BHA carries CCHIM’s endorsement for meeting the standard for the supply of content which is appropriate for the certification of health information management professionals.
The School of Accounting and Finance has been accepted into the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute University Recognition Program since 2014. The Bachelor of Commerce - Finance major program incorporates at least 70% of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and emphasizes the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the program. The program positions students to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst designation
The School of Business Management offers courses that are accredited by the Human Resources Professional Association and are required to qualify to write the National Knowledge Examination (NKE) for potential Certified Human Resources Professionals (CHRP). HRPA maintains a School Search Tool which lists all courses that have been approved by HRPA at the School of Business Management.
