Tree Near the Pond

River Bend

The subject of this image is a pond with a tree covering part of the image. To create this image I cut my photo paper into a 5 by 7. Then I used the negative to expose the paper for 45 seconds at F11. After I had developed, rinsed, and dried the image I wrote the date 4/22 on the bottom of the image. I chose to create this image because I thought that it could show the environment to a culture that has stopped going outside. This image could help to show the beauty of nature.A composition rule in this image is rule of thirds. The tree is positioned to the left third of the image. This helps to create depth in the image as well as texture. Another composition technique in this image is sharp focus. By using sharp focus in this image, you see all the fine details of the landscape. I chose to use sharp focus because there is no main subject of the image that it would be important to focus on.This image is trying to show the importance and beauty of nature. The date that I wrote on the bottom of the image is Earth Day. I decided to do this because by writing a date people would have to look it up to understand the importance. This means that the viewer would be taking more than 3 seconds to look at the image.
