Magnification/ Reflection

Two-Sided

The subject of this image is a stack of boxes with a reflection of trees on the window. To take this image I position myself that way I was not in the reflection. To edit this image, I increased shadows and contrast. By doing this it made the outline of the reflection of the trees stand out more. I also increased the saturation so the colors of the boxes would pop more. An element of design in this image is Texture. There are multiple textures throughout this image. There is texture in the boxes as well as in the trees.A composition technique in this image is Formal Balance. This image is very symmetrical overall. By having a balanced photo you are more focused on the reflection rather than everything that could be going on around it. Another composition technique in this image is grouping. There is grouping in two places; one in the boxes and the other in the trees. This helps to create a more interesting subject. This image tells two stories. The boxes show the characteristics of the people living in the house. It shows that they are connected to their belongings and do not like to let things go. The trees show a different story. They show death; the trees are dead and sparse. These two stories can connect because sometimes when people die it can be hard to let go of them.
