Geometric Shadows

Snowy Morn'

Teddy

The subject of this image is the shadow of a teddy bear. To create this image I set up a flashlight in front of the bear to project it's shadow onto the wall. To edit the image I filled in the bottom of the image to make it all black. I then layered a black image over this and changed the opacity to about 60% which helped make the image darker. I chose to create this image because I think that it tells an interesting story. This image contains a lot of texture. The outline of the bear is very sharp and shows almost all of the details of the bears fur.
This image uses sharp focus which makes the whole image very detailed. It also uses low key lighting throughout the image which gives a sadder feeling from the image. When I first started this project I had completely different ideas, but my ideas never worked out so I had to settle with this idea.
This image tells the story of growing up. When I look at this image I see a teddy bear all on its own because the child it belongs to has grown out of stuffed animals. I am really not proud of this image. I think that it is very weak. I had a difficult time coming up with an idea that incorporated shadows as well as my concentration idea. If I could do this image again I would take a portrait of someone with shadows cast across their face. This was the idea I wanted to do, but I could not find anyone to take a picture of. I would also edit the image differently, leaving the color in and making the bright colors pop.
