This subject of this image is a goat. The setting of this image was a dead forest. This photograph was made by taking 2 sticks and laying them next to the goat while the image was taken. This artwork was composed because it shows how small the goat is. A specific element that helped make the image more effective are the lines and edges that lead you into the main point of the image. The color also, helps to make this image more effective, because most of the image is one color and then you have a pop of color in the center of the image.
The main composition rule in this image is framing, but there are a few others. This image includes formal balance; which is demonstrated with the goat in the center and the 2 sticks equally spaced on both sides. Another composition rule is leading lines. By lying the 2 sticks on the ground you can see the leading lines. The techniques in this image are low key lighting and selective focus.
This image demonstrates how neutral colors can affect an images impact. In this image the use of neutral colors in the background and foreground help the main point of the image stand out. This image puts emphasis on the importance of freedom. What this means is the goat seems as though he is trapped or confined to his little area; he seems as though he is suffocating. This can relate to real life because there are sometimes where you just feel like your stuck and there is no way out. Eventually you have to learn how to think outside the box to escape the box.
If I could change one thing in my image I would change the background color to match more of an alive forest than a dead forest.
