The subject of this image is a statue of a little boy. The setting of this image is in front of a house. To create this image I enlarged my negative and made the border larger. When exposing the image I used mat board to block part of the boys face so it would be able to fit the concentration. I decided to create this image because I thought that it would show the important message of human vs nature.A composition rule of this image is informal balance. This is shown by having the boy on the right side of the image and no other object on the left side. By using this I was able to express the meaning of this image more effectively. Another composition rule of this image is high key lighting. Throughout this image there are many bright spots with a few darker spots. The use of high key lighting adds brightness to the gray tone that the image could have. When I first started this project I wanted to do a photo of a bee, but it didn't work out because I could not zoom onto the bee close enough to make the image clear for the viewer. I am still happy with this work, but I wish I could have got the bee image to work.This image shows the effects that humans have had on nature. The stone boy represents the world's stubborn ways when it comes to preserving the earth. The background is meant to represent the nature that has been destroyed and will continue to be destroyed if we continue down this path. If I could change any part of the image it would be to have a little more representation of nature in the composition.
