This subject of this image is the board game Monopoly. The setting of this image was a dining room table. This photograph was made by taking the photograph so that the di from the game was in the foreground and the remaining pieces in the background. This artwork was composed because it is a unique way to look at a board game. Most boards games are played and viewed from above, whereas this is a view from below. A specific element that helped make the image more effective was the use of black and white color in the di and the yellow pieces in the background. Also, having a neutral colored background helped the colors pop. Shapes were added to the background as an additional element that helped contrast the large cube shape in the foreground.

Several different composition rules and techniques were used in composing this image. The main technique in this image is angle up which is used to show this ordinary board game from a different perspective. Selective focus was used a secondary technique to highlight the main focal point which is the di; while the rest of the image remains blurry. A composition rule used was informal balance where the left side of the image is heavy in the foreground and the right side of the image is light in the background. You can see this by the large di on the left and small buildings on the right. To make this image this image more effective edits were made to the color contrast and the lighting by increasing them both.

This image demonstrates how board games are created to be more appealing to the human eye. There are numerous pieces to a board game that have different shapes, colors, and sizes. This image put emphasis on the importance of a di to the game of Monopoly. This can relate to real life because there are so many different components of life that we sometimes lose focus on what is most important. This is especially important in my life as a freshman in highschool and having so many new and different components added to my life that this image reminds me to focus on what is most important to me.

In the future I would like to have not as much clutter in the background. I might take the image from a different direction so there was more focus on the board game. Also, once I learn more techniques for editing my images might improve.
