Clear Cutting

The subject of this image is a landscape with some trees. To take this image, I stood in the same place and spun around in a circle and took multiple images. To edit the image, I put a plain white background. Then I put 4 different photos of the same size onto the background. After I put the image into photos and made it black and white, I increased the contrast, shadows, black points, and brightness while decreasing the exposure. To finish the edit, I added white lines where each of the images met. A principle of design in this image is unity. By putting 4 different image together, you would think that the final project would not look unified. To solve this dilemma I took image from the same exact location, that way there would be something unifying the images.A composition technique in this image is repetition/grouping. There is repetition in 2 places. The first is in the number of images. There are 4 images combined together to create one image, which is repetition. There is also grouping in the trees. In each separate image, there are many trees in groups. Another composition technique in this image is low horizon line. In all four images, the place where the ground meets the sky is below the half-way line. This creates a cool effect where it seems like the same landscape just at different times. This image shows the devastation that can be created after clear cutting an area. Many large companies go into an area and cut all of the trees down. This image shows the regrowth after. In this image, I was attempting to show some of the devastations in South America, where there is nothing left. It takes forever for trees to grow back and cutting them down takes away homes for thousands of animals, birds, and insects. I am really happy with this image and there is nothing I want to change about it.
