Sustained Investigation #2

For this project I decided to draw a baby elephant exploring the scenery. I was inspired by a baby elephant photo I saw on pinterest so I used multiple references of baby elephants and scenery to create this piece.

For this work I used liquid masking, watercolor, and posca pens.

I experimented with different photo references to get different angles to make the elephant look like its walking around exploring the area. Originally I was gonna draw a whale breaching the water and had a few sketches of it already done but like I said I saw a baby elephant photo and was inspired to do an elephant. I think I could have added more detail to the grass and rocks and maybe some more to the elephant.
