Beautiful Oops

In my artwork I show a bottlenose dolphin, a normal sea turtle, and then a leatherback sea turtle, swimming on the surface of the water. I chose to make my beautiful oops into an ocean piece because of my ink splatter, my ink splatter (on the normal sea turtle) reminded me of either a snake head or a turtle head, and since I really like the ocean I went with the sea turtle idea.

I did use references of dolphins and sea turtles swimming to see the way there limbs bend when they swim so I can get idea of motion in my artwork. I used watercolor to put the detail in the water and the sea creatures and then I used posca pens to outline and to add the white highlights.

I experimented with motion in my artwork something that I struggle with since I'm not very good at drawing different angles, but I used a lot of references to help me out a little. Like I said before I was thinking of doing a snake drawing because the ink splatter reminded me of a snake head but chose the ocean idea because I like the ocean more than snakes. I agree with some of my classmates reviews about how I could add more detail to the sea turtles and dolphin so they pop out more.
