Sustained Investigation #4

For this sustained project I wanted to show how Javan Rhinos are currently endangered. From the research I did on them they are mainly endangered because of poaching, and from what I've read that are maybe 60 of them still alive that we know of. I really wanted to add something that would make this stick in peoples head of what a lot of animals are going through so they could see the problem. I usually don't add people into my work or any blood but this time I thought maybe that's what I need to get it across to people and I think it worked really well. I've gotten many questions about this species endangerment and I've had people even ask me more about it and how to help!

The materials I used for this piece was arteeza watercolor, sharpies and charcoal.

For this project I had to do a lot of research on the Javan Rhinos to know why there endangered and where they are mostly from so I can get the scenery right. I also had a lot of references for human poses, clothes and weapons for the poachers. I also experimented with the 'blood' to make it looked smudged and drippy so it could look kinda realistic.
