In this sustained investigation I chose to show how color can express animal endangerment using watercolor. In this first piece I chose to draw a Pygmy Possum, Pygmy Possums are currently going endangered in Australia due to the fires. I chose to make this piece because I think its important to spread the word that animals are currently in trouble in Australia due to all the fires that are happening.
I only used watercolor in my artwork.
I experimented with the shading in the fire hoping to make it realistic, I also experimented with layers. At first I was gonna try to split the paper with two endangered species to show that there are more than just one species of animal going endangered in Australias fire., but decided against the idea and chose to focus on only one species in each project. I think I could've done a better job blending the fire into the background instead of making it look like the background is overtaking the fire, but other than that I am really proud with how this piece came out.
