My inspiration for this piece was to focus more on myself as a whole, I wanted the idea to be the feeling of questioning my slef-identity. Asking myself and the veiwer, who am I? Sort of wrapping up my sustained investigation, to show the idea's and feelings that I've been portraying across my SI's. I wanted to show the feeling of being lost, or not knowing who I really am. Going along with the faceless, somewhat not human portrayal of myself. Pushing the idea of self-image, and the lack of.
Pens and markers on 9" x 12" watercolor paper.
I started with the figure, sketching it out. Then going over with one layer of a lighter skin tone color, then starting with the lights. Starting with yellow, orange, and pinks. Then going in with some purples and blues, creating shadows. I then added the mouth and words, outlining them and the figure. Then creating the smokey design all around the head and letters.
