My inspiration was that I had to capture some sort of global warming issue that is happening in the world right now, I wanted to draw deforestation. So I wanted to add a tree that had a face, and he was sad that all of the trees around him had been chopped down. Which are the stumps next to him.
Watercolor and pen on 9" x 12" watercolor paper.
My process was to first sketch the tree and the stumps around it, as well as the background. After that, I added the first layer of watercolor to the whole piece. Then I added a second layer once the paint dried, and once that dried I went over it with pen and added some colors and details to the tree and the background.
