Bori Handicrafts Center

The Central Village Pottery Institute, Khanapur, Dist: Belgaum, an Government of India Undertaking could conduct a Pottery course for 5 days for min 20 residents (male & females above 18 years) of Bori in August 2012. The course will bring awareness to the community to make pottery a source of living. The course feel is Rs 500 per participant (Bori Development Trust can support the needy). Vinod Prabhudesai & Rameshwari Naik will work with the self help groups and all interested to register for the course. Based on the first course and interest of community to develop a Pottery center in Bori we can plan a permanent center in Bori to develop handicrafts.

The Govt of India gives NGO's all machinery and know how for developing skills for the community. Master Potter training on Terracotta Art ware is provided at Khanapur for 4 months to a year at govt cost plus a stipend. The clay is also available in and around bicholim. This skill center can extend to ceramic and other handicrafts
