Background of World Borikar Convention

In the rich heritage of Goa’s cultural life the people from Borim have a special importance. Bori village at the foothills of Siddhnath Parvat and bank of Zuvari river is blessed with nature and has attained greatness because of the people who have born, grown and migrated from Bori to all the parts of the world. Historically the Vijaynagar Kings have always respected the wisdom of the Borikars.

The residents of Bori, Goa have embarked on a community idea, lead by our progressive elder generation, to celebrate the success of all the people who have made us proud. We intend to invite all leaders in their profession who qualify to be BORIKARS by being born in Bori or are Sons & Daughters with family origin in Bori or have migrated and have made Borim their home and devotees of temples and churches in Bori.

The convention will assist the people associated to Bori form a pluralistic community with no gender, religion, caste and creed criteria for participation, foster a platform for all World Borikars to engage and work together. Also the congregation energy can be positively channeled towards collaboration to develop Bori village.

The convention will work with broad standards to celebrate success of Borikars in Art & Culture (Literature, Music, Theater, Films), Sports, Journalism, Medicine, Science and Technology, Architects & Engineers, Religion & Spirituality, Business & Entrepreneurship, Armed Services & Social Work, Development of Bori village.
