Bori Utsav 2017
Bori Utsav 2017, the Eighth anniversary of World Borikar Convention was held on Sunday November 19, 2017 , at SFX Church Community Hall in Bori.
Bori Dhanwantari Bhushan Award winner Dr. Francisco Colaço donated his prize money to Bori Development trust to carry out the work undertaken to develop a model village. Dr. Asha Sawardekar, a veteran social worker was impressed with the environment activities and wants all NGO’s to emulate Bori Development trust model of development on receiving Rukminibai Borkar Smruti Samaj Seva Puraskar. Jess Fernandes thanked the organization on receiving the Kavi Bakibab Borkar Smruti Puraskar. Receiving Laxmidas Borkar Smruti Patrakarita Puraskar was the epitome of his life said Suresh Walve.
Chief guest Dr. Harishchandra Nagwekar feels the work undertaken by Bori Development trust is goenkarpon and core to creation of India. Tomazin Cardoz praised the organization to undertake a goal to stop illegal development in the village which no Goan organizations undertake. He felt celebrating work of stalwarts by the village is a great achievement of Bori village.
Father Manuel Gomes was also felicitated on behalf of the village for his great community and literary work. The cooking Competition for women and Eco friendly lantern making competition prize distribution was held.
