Bori Utsav 2018
The Bori Utsav 2018 will be held on Sunday November 18, 2018, 4 pm – 7 pm at Maruti Gad, Paniwada, Bori. The program was presided by Nirmala Sawant, President Mahadei Bachao Andolan & Chief Guest was Mahabaleshwar Sail, renowned Konkani writer.
Journalist of the Year Award in memory of Swatantrasenani Late Laxmidas Borkar was awarded to Shri Raju Nayak (renowned Journalist), Kavi Bakibab Borkar Smruti Purasakar was awarded to Shri Hardatt Khandeparkar (renowned Poet), Bori Dhanvantari Bhushan Award in memory of Major Dr. Mabhlu Dotu Borcar to Dr. Dipchand Bhaskar Bhandare, Goa Samaj Seva Puraskar in memory of Smt Rukminibai Balkrishna Borkar was awarded to Dr. Sabina Martins (Founder of Bailacho Saad).
Chief guest Mahableshwar Sail was concerned with the public apathy towards environment and feels the work undertaken by Bori Development trust will assist in developing a good society. President Nirmala Sawant feels the public is to be blamed for not ask account of politician’s work. She feels Bori village has a great potential to be a leader in the state of Goa.
The children participated in Fancy dress competition and the women participated in Cooking competition. Audio visual presentation by Swami Vivekanand High School and Pragati Vidyalaya Bori students enlightened the crowd. Students with academic and extra circular excellence along with professional excellence for people having origin to Bori was the highlight of the Utsav. Bori Kalangan competition awards were also announced.
