Bori Utsav 2010
First Anniversary of World Borikar Convention was celebrated from 2-8.30 pm at Navdurga Temple Complex on December 26, 2010.
Agnelo Fernandes reviewed highlights of Bori Ustav 2009 during the World Borikar Convention. Netaji shinde presented the 2010 activities of the World Borikar Convention.
The lamp was lighted by the chief guest of the function Ramnath Kare and President of the function Dr Arun Heblekar. The new Bori Development Trust was formally inaugurated and the trustees were introduced by Dr. Nitin Borkar.
100 year old book "Avatarrahasya" - by Late Shri Dattaram Borkar was republished on its centenary at the function.
Bori Awards instituted by Borikar families in memory of Late Shri Bakibab Borkar and Late Major Dr. Mablu Dotu Borcar along with the Journalist of the Year award instituted in 2001 in memory of Late Shri Laxmidas Borkar were presented.
The first Kavi Bakibab Borkar Smruti Pursakar was awarded to Late Shankar Ramani and Late Shriram & Geeta Kamat.
The first Bori Dhanvantari Award in memory of Major Dr. Mablu Dotu Borcar was awarded to Late Dr.Shakaram Gude for his yeoman service to Bori and Shiroda people.
The JOTYA award for 2010 was given to Sunaparant editor Shri Babli Nayak.The presentation ceremony will be held later.
Ramanth Kare praised the efforts of the Bori residents to undertake such a daunting task to contribute towards development of Bori village and supported the mission with commitment of a wholehearted personal contribution. Dr. Arun Heblekar highlighted his association to Bori and pledged support to the work of the Bori Development Trust. We thank both the respected dignitaries for their fellowship and support.
Sudesh Borkar presented the plan of activities for 2011. Prof Gulab Vernekar and Smt. Mugdha Borkar compered the entire program.
The program was followed by a musical concert by Basavi Mukerji - Faculty of Shantiniketan, West Bengal accompanied by Pt. Tulsidas Borkar and on tabla by Amit Bhonsale. The program was appreciated by all.
