Instructional Marks

Instructional or explanatory marks, for example 'Gone Away', or more colourfully, 'Eaten By Rats' were applied at a post office from which there were a delivery service by postmen. It is not at all clear if each office had a full set, but it is probably not the case. Rather than list these marks under each office, it is probably more convienient to group them together into types.  Where known, each type will be listed by office and date.  Proud lists most of these marks under Port Louis, whereas Ibbotson tries to list the source.
