Several examples of state 1 follows, possibly (!) in age order.

There is no sign of any re-entry on either of these stamps, no sign of TRLs, just plenty of wear. If this position was repaired it would have been a running repair when the plate was at press between 28 July 1854 and 11 August 1854.
