Diameter 22mm. This is the smallest Port Louis pillar box cancel, which together with the early dates of use makes this easy to identify. Dates of use 2 April 1881 to 30 October 1903. Proud’s D100.
Diameter 23mm. This cancel can often be found in a clean state. It differs from other cancels in this group by having a full stop on each side between ‘PILLAR BOX’ and ‘PORT LOUIS’. Dates of use 7 July 1903 to 14 December 1909. Proud’s D101.
This cancel is very similar to the following one, but there are some clear differences. The gap at the sides between the words ‘PILLAR BOX’ and ‘PORT LOUIS’ is relatively narrow. The month/date plugs are slightly low in relation to that gap. Diameter 24mm. Dates of use 14 August 1909 to 18 January 1918. Proud’s D102.
