Douglas Gartery

Douglas was the son of Willie and Jessie Gartery, of Horbury, Yorkshire. He was a server in St Mary’s and taught in the Sunday School - his death was remembered in the church magazine.

Douglas was a Flying Officer in 419 (R.C.A.F.) Squadron of the of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (Service number128972) and died on 24^th May 1943, aged 23. He is buried in grave B.A. 2. G. 14.of Rheinberg War Cemetery.
