George Ogden

George was born in 1896, the son of Luke Denison Ogden and Agnes Ogden, of 54, Industrial St., Horbury Junction. George enlisted in Wakefield and became a Private in the 1st/4th Battalion of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (Service number 202151). He died on 8th July 1916 – one of ‘catastrophic losses’ during the Thiepval offensive of July 1916. He has no known grave – like Norman Bennett his name is recorded on the Thiepval Memorial.
