Wilfred Lawson

Wilfred was born in Horbury in 1889, the son of Mrs. Emma Jackson (a charwoman), of 12, Stringer Lane, in the parish of St Mary’s Horbury Junction. Wilfred enlisted in Wakefield and became a Private in the 6th Battalion of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (Service number 3/2954). He died on 12th March 1917 – probably in the Arras offensive.
