Clifford Pickersgill

Clifford was born in 1895 in Leeds, the son of John Henry and the late Mary Emma Pickersgill, of Horbury, Wakefield. In 1901 the family lived in Wortley in Leeds where John was a general labourer.

Clifford was a Private in ‘X’ Company of the 1^st/4^th Battalion of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (Service number 200241) and died in hospital of his injuries on 28^th July 1917. He is buried at Mont Huon Military Cemetery, Le Treport (Le Treport was an important hospital centre near Dieppe).
