Ernest Davis

Ernest was the son of John and Rose Davis, of 28 Industrial Street, Horbury. He became a Private in the 2^nd / 4^th battalion of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (Service number 201927), and died on 27^th November 1917, aged 20. He was wounded in one of the many battles in the Somme region and probably taken to the 21st / 48th Casualty Clearing Stations where he died of his wounds. He is buried at the Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Manancourt.
