Sam Rawden

Sam Rawden was born in Heckmondwike, and enlisted in Horbury. He became a Sapper with the 108^th Tunnelling Company of the Royal Engineers, and died on 7^th June 1917. He is buried at Tincourt New British Cemetery. Tincourt was one of many villages fought over during the battles of the Somme, and became a centre for Casualty Clearing Stations.
