George Johnson

George Johnson was born in Ossett and lived on Dewsbury Road in Wakefield. He enlisted in Wakefield and became a Private in the 9^th Battalion of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (Service number 18859). He died on 1^st July 1916, the first day of the Battle of the Somme. He is buried at Gordon Dump Cemetery, Ovillers-La Boisselle.
