Rumor Q&As: Dub Continuity Mistakes

Weird how FUNimation did some mistakes and add crazy extra lines to attract the kids. E.g., HFIL, etc... You ask em... The FUNimation's script does differ from the Japanese dialogue, notably having characters speak during a scene that was intended to be silent. The FUNimation script made changes to the story and errors. at some point...

Q: Is Rygol 7 a planet in the Dragon World?

A: I refuse to do this... No, maybe not.

REASON: Mentioned by name in the 1996 Westwood dub, Vegeta explains to Son Goku about the "fake moon" technique and even Bardock is a so-called scientist. Evenly, Vegeta has a squad of men who needs assistance against the advanced technology used by the planet's people to repel the Saiyans in order to transform into Oozaru.

It is completely removed in the FUNimation anime dub / Viz manga and not present in the Japanese version of the manga/anime. Westwood states the Bardock was a "brilliant scientist".  Although it is too inconsistent, it is revealed that Bardock is still a low-class fighter who was killed at the hands of Freeza, rather than a scientist. More here at Daizenshuu EX's rumor guide when VegettoEX's explains how the fake moon technique was made.

Keep the note that Rigel 7 is the name of a planet in the Simpsons, in which the alien duo Kang and Kodos are from. Ocean reused that name.

Q: The "Legendary Super Saiyan" lived over 3000 years ago

A: Nope, I think you got the wrong answer =D.

REASON: This is another inconsistency that the Original Super Saiyan lived over 1000 years ago in the FUNimation dub/Japanese version. Westwood added the "3000 years ago" line when Vegeta spoke about the Super Saiyan legend lived over a millennia. Also, another misconception that Broli is the same age as Goku although he is the same Saiyan that Vegeta refers to when relating the Super Saiyan legend to Goku in episode 086. But that refers to Vegeta speaking about the Legendary Super Saiyan, which he refers to the Original Super Saiyan who blew himself up 1000 years back. That makes no sense. Broli is not canon to the mangaand he would not be conceived for at least another year.

Q: Goku asked if he had to school again after being turned into a kid

A: Nah, too good.

REASON: You will notice that Goku said the line on episode 001 of GT when he said  in front of Dende and Popo saying "So, uh... Do I have to go back to school now?" This is not the case. FUNimation did this error to attract the audience whereas the Japanese version said "Oh no! I have been shurnk."

It is still not corrected in the script. That's FUNi's fault, not Toei's.
