When Her Soul Decides

How he aches for her!

How Messiah’s heart longs

for Jerusalem!

What a house he builds for her!

What a home he makes for her!

How his heart breaks for her!

He sees her,

Jerusalem his beloved,

with all Israel, her fulness, within her.

Even now he sees her,

adorned in all her glorious raiment,

standing with him

before their Father,

with the Father's blessings overflowing,

revealing in all creation

His most secret precious light.

How Messiah suffers in love for her,

yearning for her!

The moment she is ready,

the moment she breathes toward him,

he will come to her!

She sees him at a distance

like a dream, like a mirage.

Is it him?

She sees him riding on the young donkey.

Is this her great king?

Her face turns a little.

He sees her profile.

The spirit of God cries within him.

How his wings long to hold her!

He speaks to her in dreams,

“It is not the wings of angels you feel,”

he whispers to her,

“You feel the right wing of my prayer shawl around you.

And the left wing of my prayer shawl is under your head.”

But still she fears to stand with him

while the world of worlds falls

under the weight of darkness.

Still, he will always believe in her.

What a joyous love he has for her!

What pain he has for her!

Jerusalem, Jerusalem,

what is it that you fear?

You are beloved

more than all the stars of heaven.

Your Messiah draws near to you.

Let your excitement race toward him.

The moment your Father sees you are ready,

your Messiah comes.

The moment your soul decides,

he is standing next to you.

The moment you welcome him,

weeping with love,

“Blessed is he who comes

in the Name of Israel’s only God,”

that moment,

your Messiah will raise you up in his arms.

How he longs for her!

How Jerusalem’s Messiah

loves her with an everlasting love…

He has given nations for her,

and kingdoms

so that he might look into her eyes.
