Oh the disease! How it eats them!
- all the nations of the Holocaust
While they still sport themselves
and build their manly towers
at the feet of money,
the canvas of their art of arrogance,
how the disease grows
hidden deep in the germ of their life!
Oh how the disease
consumes the spirit of their eyes!
How it eats away the nostrils
of the face of their soul!
How their evil fingertips
provide it an evil breeding ground
and their feet carry it everywhere
that their unclean business takes them!
They threw the Jews into the furnace
And they stood around the world and watched
Oh the disease!
The burning disease
that haunts their survival like a parasite ghost
The virus of their disease was their desire
to purify their human race
of the weak and the meek
They tried to purify their race with demons
And now where can it stop?
What weakness of humanity
will their virus not find in them?
What weakness will it leave unpurged?
What will their disease not have consumed
when its cleansing hatred has purified them entirely?
What weak thing shall there be then within them
which they do not despise and hate
and feed unto their consuming lust?
What technical perfection
when their demons consume their souls
and their own souls consume their flesh upon their bones!
They were once young
and passionate lovers of themselves
How could they be helped?
They could not be satisfied with love
though they measured it to a fault
In their torment they built a stainless city
They made the earth a monument to their pain
In their agony their spirits flew out into the outer blackness
away from the stars
Their love for their perfect humanity became insatiable
so that their hearts became cores of lust's conceit
In their coldness they heard no sound at all of the other
until their only joy was emptiness and pain
Oh! If only forgiveness might reach them there!
Oh! If only forgiveness might save them there!
...the life-giving weakness of forgiveness
...the life-giving weakness of G-D
